How much to feed Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix?

I have found that the feeding guidelines on pet food are only good advice when the food in question is good quality (not the standard supermarket varieties). The general rule is this: 1 cup of dry food per 30 lbs of animal, per day. In a wet food, this would translate to about 156g a day per 30 lbs. If your pet is more active, give him/her a little more. If they are less active, give them a little less. If you have an overweight animal, or your pet gains too much weight, don't just ume you need to put them on a low fat diet. More often than not, they are overweight because of how much they are being fed.
