Exactly how long is army bct...?

is the basic for army exactly 9 weeks from the time they reach reception or once they get to actual bct. My boyfriend that he would be graduating on OCT 17th but his co info on the web site says it will be two weeks earlier which is exactly 9 weeks from when he arrived the other would be like 11 weeks....
