Why do feminists claim that they want women to prosper, but they get angry when pretty women prosper?

For example, Phyllis Schlafly was far more educated and intelligent than the feminists of her day. She graduated with a master's degree from Harvard at age 20. Betty Friednan, one of Schlafly's contemporary feminists, didn't even get a bachelor's degree until age 21 (from a crappier college). But Schlafly was a pretty model and Friednan was fat and ugly. So feminists embraced Friednan and attacked Schlafly. Was it because Schlafly was so much better looking?
