Do you accept as an axiom that The Creator is sovereign over His creation?

Ultimately, yes. In the realm of time, however, God has limited Himself by His decision to give His creatures free will. He does know what we will do and what we would do in any given situation, but He still allows us to make the choice, and yes, to fail, if that's what we choose. He knows who will choose Him and what it will take, and He does what He knows to be good. Ultimately, He will take back His sovereignty in toto once His purpose has been accomplished -- that purpose being to expand His manifestation into a people who bear His name and live by His life.
